Description

In 1965 Wegner completed his house in Gentofte north of Copenhagen, where he lived with his family for 40 years. Wegner designed every little detail for the house cabinets, windows, lamps down to the placement of each stone in the walls. The Minimal chair is a minimalistic version of the Bull Chair designed to specifically fit into the dining room and as time has gone by these chairs still remain. The frame is reduced using stainless steel and Wegner reserved the use of wood for the part that is closest to the human body, the arm and backrest. The arched construction of the backrest requires three different directions of woodgrain with a piece of contrasting veneer to enhance the character of construction.
