Wegner designed the stool as an accessory to the Papa Bear Chair. In spite of this intention it naturally accompanies most other easy chairs in PP Møbler’s product line. The stool is a strong construction with legs that penetrate and interlock with the solid beech wood frame using traditional joinery and the upholstery is made from horsehair and cotton. It may seem a trivial product, but it is a genuine piece of exquisite craft. Wegner designed the Bar Bench in 1953 for his own private entrance hall. Employing simple means, the Bench provides practical intermediate seating, despite the fact that it was designed for an entrance hall, it will suit many other purposes.
