Description
Designed by Junzo Sakakura, one of the leading figures of 20th century Japanese architecture, this chair was orginally created for a space of his own design. More than six decades after its introduction, it remains an enduring icon of Japanese modernism. The sculpted backrest and seat, crafted from molded plywood, gently follows the contours of the body to provide exceptional comfort. Their distinctive organic form is said to have been inspired by the cross-section of a persimmon.
